# Pitching wedge distance at age 20

A golfer of 20 carries a pitching wedge about 106 yards on the age model, at 66 mph of club head speed, and totals 108 yards on a fairway landing. That is the peak of the model; every later decade sits behind it.

## Key figures

- A golfer of 20 carries a pitching wedge about 106 yards on the age model, at 66 mph, and totals 108 yards.
- Age 20 is the peak of the model; a golfer of 70 carries the same club 90 yards.

## Scope

- The age model eases a peak club head speed by decade and swings the pitching wedge at the same fraction of its tour speed; the carry is the published tour anchor at that speed, and your own launch monitor carries replace it in the app.
