Golf term
Bogey Golfer
A bogey golfer is a player whose Handicap Index is roughly 18 (men) or 24 (women) — someone who averages about one over par per hole.
The USGA uses the scratch and bogey golfer as reference points to rate course difficulty. As a strokes gained baseline, the bogey golfer is a realistic mid-handicap benchmark to measure improvement against.
