Shot Tracking & Round Logging
PinFlag’s shot tracking records club, lie, and landing in one gesture and computes strokes gained on the phone as you play. Everything logs on-device first and syncs when it can, so a dead zone never blocks a round.

Aim, tap Log, confirm club and lie — that’s a shot. Everything records on your phone first and syncs when it can, so a dead zone never blocks play. Undo a mis-tap, resume a round you closed mid-hole, and finish to a per-shot strokes-gained scorecard.
Why it matters
- Tracking that slows play doesn’t survive the third hole — one gesture does.
- Every logged shot builds the on-course dataset your strategy numbers stand on.
- Corrections that re-fold the whole round keep totals honest, not approximately right.
How it works
- 1
Aim, tap Log
The club is suggested by distance; you confirm club and lie in one sheet.
- 2
Play on
Shots record locally and sync opportunistically; a sync dot shows the honest state.
- 3
Fix mistakes
Undo the last shot or move a mark — the round re-folds so every total stays consistent.
- 4
Hole out
Strokes, putts, penalties, and the result term score themselves from what you logged.
Everything Shot Tracking & Round Logging does
- One-gesture shot logging with club and lie confirmation
- Offline-first: shots log on-device and sync opportunistically
- Undo last shot; move or void any mark — the round re-folds so totals stay honest
- Resume an in-progress round exactly where you left off
- Auto-scored per-hole scorecard: strokes, putts, penalties, result
- This-round shot trail on the hole you’re playing
- Per-hole timeline with each shot’s SG and Measured/Estimated tag
- Live strokes gained computed on the phone — the server never needs your position stream
Who it’s for
Golfers who want real per-shot data without becoming their own scorer — and anyone who has lost a round’s tracking to a weak signal.
What’s different
- Offline-first by architecture, not as a fallback.
- Undo and corrections re-fold the round — no orphaned totals.
- Strokes gained computes on the phone; the server never needs your position stream.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need a signal to track shots?
- No. Shots log on your phone first and sync when a connection returns; the sync indicator always shows the true state.
- Can I undo a mis-tap?
- Yes — undo the last shot, or move and void marks. The round re-folds so score and strokes gained stay consistent.
- Can I resume a round after closing the app?
- Yes. An in-progress round resumes exactly where you left off, on the hole you had reached.
- Does tracking include penalties and putts?
- Yes. Penalties are user-confirmed drops logged as exactly one stroke, and putts are entered on a to-scale rendering of the real green, in feet.
