Selecting a course

Course selection is search, then tee, then — for a real round — a mode choice, handing off to the same on-course HUD either way. Only courses whose geometry has passed verification are playable; anything else shows an honest 'Unavailable' instead of a broken map.

The PinFlag iOS app is in pre-release. Leave your email and we’ll tell you the moment it’s available.

  1. 1

    Search for your course

Choose to start or preview a round and search the course list. Only courses whose geometry has passed verification are playable; everything else is greyed out and marked 'Unavailable' rather than faked.

  2. 2

    Pick your tee

Tap a course to see its real tee plates and yardages. Your selected tee sets both your starting position and how the hole is framed on the map — it isn't just a label on the scorecard.

  3. 3

    Choose Casual or Tournament mode

Starting a real round adds one more step: Casual keeps every on-course aid on; Tournament turns off anything advice-class for the whole round while keeping distances — built for rules-legal play, not a limitation. Previewing a course skips this step.

  4. 4

    Understand 'Course unavailable'

If your device doesn't have the geometry a course needs, you'll see a plain 'Course unavailable' screen rather than a broken or placeholder map — for both real rounds and previews. More courses go live as their geometry is verified.
