What is an aim point?

An aim point is the spot on the hole you choose to play to, and it is rarely the flag. PinFlag prices any aim point you put the aim on: the strokes gained of that spot, with your own dispersion around it and the lie read from the course map at the point itself. Move the aim and the number moves with it. Compare the flag, the fat side of the green and the layup, and the difference between them is the cost of the aggressive line in strokes, before you commit. Shot Cloud draws your launch monitor shots and past shots around each aim point, so the share of your spread that reaches the water or the bunker is a picture rather than a guess, and a target in a hazard is priced with the penalty stroke included. Every shot you log records the aim point as well as the result, which is how PinFlag measures your dispersion from real rounds.

Most apps grade rounds after. PinFlag, in the iOS app, shows your strokes gained for any target before you swing, with your own dispersion and the real lie priced in, and draws your launch monitor shots and past shots on the hole you are playing (Shot Cloud). Two taps log each shot, and every round becomes a per-shot breakdown of where the strokes went.
