Range, simulator and launch monitor sessions
Getting a session into PinFlag, what it becomes, and how it prices the course.
How do I get a simulator session into PinFlag?
Export the session and open it in PinFlag’s launch monitor import. Trackman, Garmin and Rapsodo files import directly; any other simulator or monitor imports through a mapped CSV, where you pick the club column and the carry column and set the units. The session becomes a per-club pattern labeled Measured.
Which columns does the PinFlag CSV import need?
The club and the carry, at minimum, with the units set to yards or metres. You map them once for a monitor and the whole session comes in, up to 5,000 shots at a time, with outliers flagged for you to judge rather than silently deleted.
How many shots can I import into PinFlag?
Up to 5,000 shots in a session. Each import becomes a per-club pattern of carries and spread, and later sessions add to the picture; Shot Cloud lets you view launch monitor shots, past rounds or all sessions together.
Does PinFlag keep range sessions separate from rounds?
Yes. Launch monitor shots and on-course shots are two sources, each dot in Shot Cloud carries its source, and they are never blended into one number: exactly one source stands behind any figure, and the Measured or Estimated label says which.
Does PinFlag import carry or total distance?
Carry, because it is the number that transfers to the course: the ball has to land where you want it. The roll a monitor reports is modeled from launch conditions, while the carry is measured from the flight, and every target on the course is priced from the carry pattern.
How does a range session change the number on the course?
It replaces the benchmark pattern with yours. Before a session the number before the swing runs on a benchmark dispersion labeled Estimated; after it, the same target is priced with your own carries and spread, labeled Measured, and Shot Cloud draws the session’s shots around the target on the hole.
What is the launch monitor analyzer on pinflag.io?
A free tool that reads a session export in the browser, shows per club carry and spread, flags gaps between clubs, and prices what each pattern costs in strokes from the published tables, with no account needed, on the same numbers as the app.
What does trimming outliers do in Shot Cloud?
It removes the longest and shortest shots from the pattern drawn on the hole, so a topped shot and a flushed one do not stretch the cloud that prices the target. The trim is yours to apply, the confidence grade says how much data stands behind the pattern, and the underlying session is untouched.
